WHAT IS RADIATION?

Radiation is the energy emission or transmission that is in the form of electromagnetic waves or electromagnetic particles. As is known, atoms create the base structure of element. And atom is formed by a core that is formed by proton and neutrons and electrons that are rotating around this core.

In any material, if the number of neutrons is greater than the number of proton, this kind of materials show an unstable structure and neutrons in their core burst by emitting rays such as alpha, beta, gamma.

The materials that are emitting such rays to their environment are called as radioactive material and rays that are emitted to the environment is called as radiation.
